The material is satin: a smooth fabric with a noticeable glossy sheen. Light reflections appear on the blue surface, so under different lighting the shade looks either deeper or brighter. This sheen is clearly visible under directed light: in a flash photo, under the light of string lights or spotlights. The glossy surface sets satin apart from matte fabrics. There are ties at the neckline: they hold the cape on the neck.

They can be tied tighter or looser — the position of the cape on the shoulders changes accordingly. The front slit leaves the panels open, and the design has no sleeves. Suitable occasions — a carnival party, a costume event, Halloween, a theatrical production, and a photo shoot. On stage the cape reads as a noticeable outer piece, and in a photo as an accent visible even in a wide shot.
