Headwear is the fastest way to be read as a character, which is why this collection holds more headpieces than hats. Feathered carnival headpieces and headbands outnumber brimmed hats here, alongside crowns, horns and witch cones.

Two different decisions apply. For a brimmed hat, crown height and brim treatment set the silhouette. For a headpiece, weight and how it anchors to your head matter more than anything visual — a large fan or horn piece that keeps sliding will spend the night in your hand.
